What we collect

CVNepal is a resume builder. When you use it we handle: (1) the resume content you type — your name, contact details, work history, education, and skills; (2) if you sign in, your account details — your email address, and if you use Google to sign in, the name and profile image on that account; (3) your email address if you subscribe to updates; and (4) basic usage and payment records needed to run the service.

Your resume data

Your resume is saved so you can come back and keep editing it. A draft is stored in your browser and, so it survives across sessions, on our server keyed to an anonymous identifier. When you sign in, that draft is linked to your account.

Cookies and analytics

CVNepal uses a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember which CV you are editing; the site cannot work correctly without these. Beyond those, we use cookies for analytics as described below (and, in future, for advertising — see the Advertising section). You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings.

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — which pages are visited and which features (such as downloading a CV) people use — so we can improve it. To do this, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and sends usage data, including your IP address, to Google, which processes it on our behalf. We do not use it to identify you personally, and the resume content you type is never sent to it. You can block these cookies with your browser settings or an ad-blocker without affecting the builder.

AI features and third-party processing

Our optional AI tools (“Improve with AI” and the ATS score) send the resume text you choose to improve to a third-party AI provider, Google’s Gemini API, to generate suggestions. This only happens when you actively use an AI feature — it never runs on its own.

We currently use Google’s free API tier. Under Google’s terms for that tier, Google may use the content sent to it to provide, improve, and develop Google’s products, and human reviewers may read and process the text. Because of this, you should not include information in resume text you send to the AI tools that you would not want processed this way. The rest of the builder (typing, preview, download) never sends your data to the AI provider.

You accept this when you first turn on an AI feature. See Google AI’s terms for the authoritative description of how they use submitted data.

Advertising

CVNepal does not currently display third-party advertising. We may introduce advertising in the future — for example through Google AdSense — so we describe here, in advance, how it works.

When advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to CVNepal or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through Google’s My Ad Center (formerly Google Ads Settings). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized ads at www.aboutads.info. Opting out does not remove ads — it makes them less personalized.

Payments

Payments are processed by the payment provider you choose (e.g. eSewa, Khalti). We receive a confirmation of payment; we do not store your card or wallet credentials.

Your choices

You can use the builder, preview, and download your CV without signing in and without using the AI tools. Signing in and the AI tools are optional. You can unsubscribe from our email updates at any time from the link at the bottom of any of them, without signing in and without affecting your CVs. To request deletion of your account or data, contact us — deleting your account also removes you from the email list.

Email we send you

Sign-in links. If you sign in without Google, we email you a one-time link. That email is how the service works, so it isn't something you can unsubscribe from — but we only send it when someone asks to sign in with your address.

Updates you subscribe to. You can subscribe to new CV guides, skills pages, and job notices. We ask you to confirm by clicking a link in an email first, so nobody can sign your address up but you. Every one of these emails has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately and needs no password.

Feedback and contact messages

Sending a bug report, a suggestion, or a message through the contact form requires you to sign in, so that we have a verified address to reply to and so the form can't be abused by bots. We store what you wrote, the page you sent it from, and the email address of the account you sent it with. We don't store your IP address. We use what you wrote to answer you and to fix what you reported.

Please don't include passwords, passport numbers, or other sensitive details in a feedback message.
